Heels on Wheels hereby declares May 2016 as Glitterary Awareness Month aka #GLAM!
We’re so excited that the anthology Glitter  &  Grit: Queer Performance from the Heels on Wheels Femme Galaxy is nominated for a Lambda Literary Award. This recognition feels deeply validating and we are thrilled to be in the extraordinary company of our fellow nominees. We honor the craft, tenacity, drive, and straight-up motherfucking bravery that it takes to make and share creative work.
It takes a lot of grit to get this glitter.
That’s why we’re launching Glitterary Awareness Month (#GLAM) as a space to celebrate risk-taking artists and culture creators, both on and off the page. We’re shouting out artists who teach us to survive and thrive. Recognizing our friends who write secret poems in their rooms and make gorgeous movies on their phones. Appreciating the academics who document artists on the fringe. Thanking the educators who share the power of imagination. All May, Heels on Wheels will crown #Glitterary Award winners and encourage YOU to do the same!

- May 1 – 7: Start nominating your loved ones and inspirations for Glitterary Awareness Awards & go for it all month long! We will be sharing our #Glitterary inspirations allllll month!
